Go to a decent bookshop- second hand
can be sometimes good- my favourite Chinese cookbook by Kenneth Lo is
long out of print.
Check the recipes- do you need to go
on a world tour to get the ingredients?
Are there more retouched pictures
than recipes?
Are there inappropriate things?- I once saw
a book of chinese cooking recommending parsley when coriander was
really needed.
Are there too many proprietary
components if the book is from a food producer?
Is the book fun- and will it last in
the kitchen?
